Matsuo Laboratory conducts various researches on compressive fluid dynamics flowfield by numerical simulation (computational fluid dynamics, CFD). Our researches cover the most fundamental physics of the compressive flows to wide variety of applications, and much efforts are put on the following four categories:

- Aerospace propulsion
- Combustion phenomenon
- Turbulence simulation
- Safety engineering

The lab is prepared with the equipments having the most latest computing technologies, and we actively conduct joint researches with the laboratories of other universities and enterprises.
